I have my comp set to tell me when to install updates, yet they will not install. I have tried going to the Microsoft site to install from there, but it still won't install them.

Any suggestions?

  1. Are the updates downloading and you are not following through with the install, or are they not downloading at all? If they are not downloading, the only reason for that would be because of a pirated version.

  2. Most likely you have an pirated version of Windows.

A while back I had an issue with Windows Update through their site and I wouldn't scan my system it would go into a loop and give me an error code. Somehow it was a glitch and downloaded a patch for it.

  3. I can't help you because I have the same problem but it is not because I have a pirated version of microsoft. My validation code is very legal ans always clears so that is not a valid answer.

  4. is it giving u any kind of error code if so re:post with info

  5. Try using Microsoft TecNet for download your software.  I had the same problem and installed all 90, plus SP3 and all current critical via this link.

  6. I was having the same frustrating problem with my XP home 2003 updates until I quite by accident learned that Service Pack 3 had not been installed on my comp.

According to my microsoft download history SP3 was downloaded and installed so it was never offered again.

I double checked my Control Panel,  Add remove programs, scrolled down and noticed that SP2 was installed but not SP3.

I went back to Microsoft Site and downloaded the Service Pack 3.

After it installed all my other updates did too YAY!!

    Frustration ended.

    Hope this helps you.
