Windows Vista Question?

I'm new to this windows. I'm trying to fix the resolution but everything just looks wrong. When I use the maximum resolution, icon looks perfect (somewhat small) but the font in my web browser is extremely small. When I use medium resolution, the icon looks so big (it's so annoying) but the the font in my web browser is perfect. Also, the font size in Firefox is much smaller that the font size in the Internet Explorer. When the IE has okay size, the Firefox 3 has tiny font.

Well, it's so annoying. I never have problem with font and icon size when I use XP. How do fix it? I want my icon size and my font size as big as in the XP.

Note: I've already tried the ctrl + scrolling method to adjust the icon size. However, only the picture of the icon is getting smaller, but the text description below the picture is not changing. As result, I have small icon with huge text below it leaving so many space between the icons.

  1. not sure if this will work but the icons might be viewed as small because they are set that way. right click on the desktop go to view then id say medium icons. and the exploer text could be from the view or settings try and hold ctrl and then 0 (zero) might work might not.
