Windows Vista no start-up?

I have a Lenevo notebook with Windows Vista business edition installed on it. Yesterday when I attempted to start it up it went through all the startup procedures, execpt ended with a black screen where I could only see and move the mouse and no signs of the rest of the desktop.

I have attempted to start it up a few times since and the same thing is happenning. And I have also noticed that there is no longer a visible loading bar when I fist switch the computer on

I do not have An installation C.D but I do have PC Doctor if that is of any help.

Any idea how to fix this?

  1. Don't even bother trying to reinstall Windows Vista; it is simply an operating system designed for failure, just like Windows ME was several years ago.  Go out and buy a copy of Windows XP Professional and install that on your laptop, which will run on ANY computer.  You'll be much happier with Windows XP, I guarantee it.

  2. It sounds like the installation went wrong somewhere and you need to reinstall.

Buy Vista Home Premium and install that instead...unless you actually need it for business, then buy the Business edition and do a re-install.

If you have an XP disk, install that for the meantime until you get a Vista disk.
