  1. xp. cuz it is so compatible with lots of hardware and software. vista is still on some issue state.

  2. If I'd asked you in 2001 which was better: XP or Windows 98, which one would you have chosen? Windows 98 was faster, more compatible (both hardware and software), and was more "user friendly" (no requests for activation, no compatibility modes to set, no god-awful excuse for a Control Panel, etc...). Many people were reluctant to upgrade to XP, and used a wide variety of excuses to justify it. 98% of people who criticize Vista have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

  3. I still would prefer XP b/c that's all I knew after Windows98.  Vista is fine too but WP is and was my comfort zone although I'm adaptable.

I don't care which is better it's about comfort.

  4. xp window vista is very slow u wont like it

  5. vista needs allot of extra ram/cpu/diskspace, etc, it's like a flashy version of the first relese of xp with all the problems it's been having.

i'm sticking with xp till something better comes along.

PS, we BOUGHT a brand name computer *cough*hp*cough at work with vista pre-installed and we had nothing but problems with it. (progams crashing, general slowness.) we tried to find xp drivers for it and tried to re-install but *cough*hp*cough decided they didn't need to make xp drivers for it. we finally just bought all the stuff and built an xp machine and it's way better and got rid of the other one.

  6. I would prefer XP.

But it really depends on what you do on your computer and how fast it is.

    Reasons to get Vista:

    1. Finally a good design from Windows. A really nice look.

    2. Probably easier to use

    3. A lot of selection: Home Premium, Ultimate etc. Pay for it depending on how you will use it.

    4. More secure.

    Reason to stay with XP:

    1. Faster

    2. More reliable

3 No annoying securityy popups every now and then

    4. Compatible with a wider range of software/hardware

Vista is considered the second Millenium, meaning that it was an unsuccessful release (Windows Millenium Ed. froze in the hand of Bill Gates during it's official presentation!).

Windows XP on the other hand is the best and the longest lasting Windows ever. 8 years and the whole world is still using it!

Microsoft is now planning the release of Windows 7 in 2010, which means that even they are not proud of Vista and don't think that it will prove iteself as a good operating system.

  7. XP!! Stick with XP!! It's very efficient. Vista takes up too much memory, is slow, and isn't compatible with some programs. I'm in the process of figuring out how to get back to XP because I made the mistake of upgrading to Vista.

  8. I would say Vista since Service Pack 1 greatly enhances practically everything. Most well known hardware now has good drivers for Vista, and Vista actually uses your hardware to the fullest to enhance everything you do.

The only reasone I see to use XP is if you have old hardware or software that doesn't play nice with Vista. Also, some people in various forums get a better gaming experience in XP than in Vista, but that is changing very fast.

If your computer is relatively new (about 2 to 3 years old), Vista should run nicely. Hardware that is 3 to 4 years old might not run Vista to its potential but is decent none-the-less. Anything over 4 years old might have serious problems running Vista.

  9. Vista is better than XP.

Before you upgrade check to make sure your hardware is compatible with Vista. =]

  10. XP it is more reliable and is compatible with almost every software available for vista, xp is far ahead of vista in compatibility so id say xp
