Windows XP Security Center

Okay this security Center thing keeps popping up whenever i'm on my computer, it's very annoying...How do i remove it permanently? When i go to "add/remove" programs it's not there....How do i get rid of it?

  1. please go to Control Panel>Security Center>in the left hand side pane you will see "change the way security center alerts me"---remove the check marks to make the changes here. you must be logged on as Administrator to do this.


  2. no need to keep security center running and consuming resources if your not going to be using it, simply disabling the message system in it allows it to continue running.

    start - run type

    services.msc

    scroll down to security center and right click on it, select the drop down menu and put it to disabled, and click stop, apply and exit.

  4. What you need to do it turn off the security centers alerts.

    To do this open the security center.

    Then on the left hand side click "Change the way Security Center Alerts Me"

    Then Uncheck the boxes you don't want alerts from and it will nolonger give you those annoying messages OK.
