Question:

Windows XP Taskbar?

I saw a taskbar the other day. It was a bit different than the one that I had (smoother edges), and I wanted to know if it was possible to get that taskbar. I'm using a Windows XP Home Edition computer with SP2. I tried downloading SP3 but it didn't change the outlook of my computer at all. Here's what my taskbar looks like:

And here's what the one I want looks like:

Did I install the wrong version of SP3? If so, could someone give me the correct link, or the actual way to get this taskbar, if it's possible? Thanks.

  1. Windows XP has a theme feature that allows you to change the appearance of your screen.  This website will shed light on it.  It is an example.

  2. I think that if you make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and set your screen colour depth to the maximum you will find it !

  3. Search for Windows Crystal XP 2008.

  4. What you're looking at is an alternate visual style for Windows XP called "Royale". It ships with the Media Center and Tablet PC versions of Windows XP. You may be able to download it from Microsoft's website or elsewhere.
