Windows XP adding user accounts

Right. I was the administrator for my computer but I moved, and my sister deleted my account. Now I can't seem to add myself as a new user because she deleted my account (which had the administrator priveleges) and so my question is: How can I add myself again? Preferably as an administrator? Nobody has an administrator's account at the moment. Thanks if anybody can sort this out then first right answer gets best answer.

  1. When you boot your computer, press and hold the the F5 key at the top of your keyboard (Key Might Vary With Different Computer Models). If this does not work, try different F keys out. Except F2 which usually brings up the BIOS screen. If you have found the correct key, after holding it, there should be a list on your screen saying Start Windows Normally, Start in safe mode, etc. (Yes, you can take your finger off the key). Use the keyboard's Up and Down keys to select Safe Mode then, press enter. (Do Not Choose safe mode with networking or safe mode with command prompt) This  mode if your standard Windows account does not work correctly. When it is loaded,  can go and change account information and create accounts normally from the control panel. Once you have changed account info or made a new account, restart your computer normally, and choose the account that you have made/added admin privileges to and log in to that account, and there you go.

If that does not work, do the same booting procedure until choosing safe mode. Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt with the up down keys. Press enter. Then the command prompt comes up, type "net user username password /add" without the quotes. Change username to your desired username and password to your desired password. Then, to make it administrator, type: "net localgroup administrators username /add". Again without the quotes. Change username to the username you have created.

    Best of luck:

  2. First of all, are there other user accounts in that PC? even if they are limited ones, are they present? If yes then continue. If not then skip to the next section. But you can try the first one even if you don't have other users. It might work out fine.

    Do the following:

    >> When you get at the place where you have to select the user to log into, press Ctrl+Alt+delete twice.

    >> After you press C+A+P twice, a window will pop up.

    >> Type in username 'Administrator'.

    >> Leave the password field blank, press enter.

    >> After you log into the Administrator user account open Control Panel through Start.

    >> There add a new User Account and give her/him administrator rights.

    >> Restart. Done.

    2nd part:

    >> Restart the computer and before XP starts loading keep on pressing F8. (do this just after the first window that appears)

    >> Select the Safe Mode to login.

    >> Enter

    >> Select the Administrator user account when it comes up.

    >> Go to Start>Control Panel>User Accounts.

    >> Create a new User Account with Administrator privileges.

    >> Restart.

    Hope your problem gets solved.
