Windows XP message - You must activate windows within 3 days or windows will stop????

Question

I added a 1 gb memory stick to my pc. When I turned back on the computer everything worked fine but I am getting a message that I must reactive windows within 3 days or it will stop working. How do I reactive windows? Why do I get all the information to do it? I bought the computer with it already installed on the computer from the store. I don't know where to get the info for this! How can I fix it?

Type jellybean into google,you will need the activation key.If you don't have it,jellybean will give it to you,totally free.

Try to do a System Restore dates earlier before those things happened. Your OS is preinstalled so should not be activated twice.

If you have the internet. Then you should click on the reactive thing then follow what it says. It is just a legal thing that Microsoft has. It will ask for your details put them. The information will only go to Microsoft. Legally the shop you brought the computer from should have either done this for you or not have windows on it at all.

either call the number and reactivate the copy, or do it online

it will do that when you change or add any hardware

hi angela, when you see this message there wil usually be an icon in the lower right side of your screen just hit the icon and it will give you a place to install your number if you don't know it go to start>settings>control panel hit the system icon there is the number on that page write it down so you will have it for the future if someone else ask for it go back and activate it. or go to your desktop and place in your search bar activate windows xp there it will give you a page that you can do it online. or you can get the telephone number of microsoft activation center then they will ask you to read a series of numbers to read back to them ad they will annouce that your windows is activated. good luck hope i was helpful to you
