Windows XP reinstall trouble, file copy completes but automated reboot starts the entire installation over.

Question

Device boot order in BIOS makes no difference. If CD listed first then "setup" starts all over again. If after the file copy, I interrupt the automated reboot and change the BIOS and put the HD first, it just sits there. It's an Intel MOBO. Anyone else had this BS happen to them?

You could take the CD out of the drive.
