  1. You CANNOT use an OEM CD on any computer other then the one is came with otherwise you will run into conflict issue as you are running into now. So you must format the computer again and install a version of windows that is not being used by any other computer.

  2. OEM is for a computer built for Xp

  3. If you have a genuine windows key they go windows activation screen it has an option to change windows product key.  If the key is valid it will give you the option to activate windows.  If you do not have internet access it may be nothing to do with windows it may be that your network adapter is not yet installed. Check on system properties device manager to make sure it is.  If you cannot get online there is an option to activate by telephone.  Just call the free number provided and follow the instructions.

  4. Your key only works with the copy it was supplied with. Trying to load someone else's copy on your machine is illegal, and will therefore not activate, locking the machine. It also cancels the other person's activation making their disk unusable for recovery. I hope he is a good friend.

  5. i think you should just buy a copy of your own m8 a lot less bother

  6. what the others said. Just buy the OS.

  7. Microsoft would generally lock the keyboard if you had a CD key generator.  I think you should buy a legitimite copy of windows.
