  1. When you have to format your c drive and reinstall Windows, yes you will loose everything. Therefore you have to make a backup of all your important files, such as documents, music, videos, pictures etc.

Most computers have a second partition ( d drive) these days.

You should make directories on your d drive and copy all your personal files to those directories.

The d drive should be used to store everything you do not want to loose in case your computer crashes.

Lots of people for example download a lot of songs with limewire. They leave all the songs in the default directory of limewire.

When limewire has to be uninstalled, they loose every song.

Why not make a directory like d:/Limewire Music and let limewire copy all downloads to that directory. They are safe when pc has to formated.

I just want to let know, that lots of people never think, that it will be necessary to reinstall windows and do not bother with backing up there important files.

  2. You could take out your hard disk and install on another PC as secondary drive.

Then boot up on that PC and copy the svchost.exe from that PC to your windows\system32 folder.

Then take your hard disk back to your PC and install it back.

  3. I want to assume you meant to say svchost files...those run on the Ram as a critical part of the system.

svshost files are not windows system files - they are viruses. You should run a COMPLETE scan of your PC using the latest updated antivirus you have. Note the difference - svchost is good (unless its found outside the the system32 folder) svshost is bad!

there should be only one svchost.exe file located inside C:\windows\system32.

If you're really dealing with svchost and not svshost, you have to consider whether there is any chance that what's happening is a result of hardware failure - hard-drive or Ram failure. But there isn't enough info in your question to really conclude this.
