Windows explorer keeps freezing?

Question

My windows explorer keeps freezing and it's really annoying! I can't get to anything tabbed at the bottom of my desktop, and the sound won't go up or down. any suggestions?

oh, and I have a fairly new toshiba with windows vista installed.

On internet explorer,tools/internet options,advanced tab and hit the reset at the bottom

Try looking at your task manager (right click the task bar and go to task manager) and go to the second tab. Your processor (CPU) is probably going at 100% or close to it. See what's using up the CPU % the most and try ending the task of whatever is hogging the CPU %.
