Windows installer not working. access denied. HELP ASAP

HELLO

i am trying to install windows installer from the MS site....i have ORIGINAL xp.

I click on the icon to install, and it stops halfway and says access is denied...click ok to undo changes....

now cos of that norton 2008 wont work....

what could be the problem...

are you on an administrator account?

windows doesnt like to be installed through windows so this could be the issue. It wants to be boot installed with a disk this is the best method, same goes for repair and that sounds like what you were trying to do.

you dont need your original disk thats actually worthless, the license is what holds worth. You can use any windows xp disc pre sp3 these disk are otherwise none as windows xp 2b disks cuz they are pre xp 2c. 2c disks will only work with other 2c licenses.
