Windows live messenger question?

okay, so i just got a new computer and on my msn when i try punctuation in the message box's like ? or " or : they dont show up like that, they show up as an E with an accent on it. this only happens on msn, not on the interne or word or anything. help? how do i fix it?

I think its installed in a diff language

Uninstall and download again from the MS website!
