Windows media player bsod

when i try and watch video's via windows media player sometimes they will work just fine and then sometimes it crash's my comp. this just started happening a day ago and now i cant watch family guy without a bsod:( im running xp atm with 4g ram and win media player 11

  1. You'll need to do a whole lot of TS to get this one out. Check if the problem only occurs with WMP or with other players as well. If it re-occurs with other players then we can say its a problem either with OS or Physical problem (Faulty RAM or Graphics Card). Do the normal things: If you have recently moved your computer, try re-seating the RAM & the graphics Card.. If you have installed something new, try un-installing it. Also check if you have AV & other programs scheduled for a test that time. Conflicting programs can cause BSOD. Also you would get very specific error numbers on the BSOD, try searching on yahoo or google for those numbers, they'd look something like 0X0014e or something like that. Best of luck mate.
