Windows movie maker problem..no sound?

I connect my DV camera using the USB cable. When I capture video it has no sound (audio from the tape). I was doing the same thing before and it was ok.

How can i fix this?

  1. You mentioned that you were previously successful in video capture via wmm using usb. But now there's no audio. There might be several causes, but try codecs...

    Download codecs automatically=>  wmm/Tools/General/Options -> put a chk on download codecs auto        Specifies that wmmaker attempts to download codecs automatically when you choose to import a video or audio file where codec is not installed (or accidentally uninstalled). If appropriate codec is found @ Microsoft Web site,  codec is downloaded &installed silently w/o any user intervention.To install codecs manually, you must have the appropriate Administrator authority.


  2. If you check the resolved answers you will see that you need to connect your camcorder with a firewire cable to the firewire port of your PC. USB does not work. Reread your camcorder manual or download one from the manufacturer support site of your camcorder. Good luck!!
