Windows movie maker wont work?

Question

i run on windows xp with windows movie maker. and up until now it ran fine but now it wont let me import anything. nothing at all. and the stuff that is on there wont go into the timeline ill drag it down but nothing appears ive tried installing it again and nothing happens. i dont understand what is going on. everytime i go to import it says unspecified error. any help?

movie maker is a bit of an unreliable program iv had loads of trouble with mine, Microsoft is bringing out a brand new movie maker made differently and they say it'll work much better than the previous versions it'll have more fx, more transitions and more options than ever and theres a hit it might have green screen capabilities

check the file types....then delete everything that is in the folder already and reimport...if it still won't work uninstall and reinstall
