i am going to install windows on my mac does anyone know if this will slow down my mac

  1. No, it won't.  You will be installing them on separate partitions.

    If you mean that you will be using some virtualization software such as VMware or Virtual PC, then it will only slow down your Mac while you are actually running Windows.
