i have 2 computers on the same network that have xp i share files on. i have another computer with windows 2k how do share files on the 2k computer through my network i already have setup?

  1. You should just be able to right click on the folder that you want to share on win2k a share the folder, you should have them in the same Workgroup. Then browse My Network Place or if you know the IP address of the win2k system, you could go to the RUN box and enter the UNC path \\IP-of-Your-PC\sharename as an example \\192.168.0.1\share you could then map a network drive of that share on your winXP system.

  2. if all 3 computers are connected to the same router

    on the win 2k computer make sure tcp ip setting are set to obtain ip and dns addresses automatically

    then go to control panel and system computer name and make sure the work group name is the same as it is on the 2 xp computers

    once thats done u can just share files as u would in xp
