Question:

Windows update from june 2007?

Hi

I have just leaned in horror that my computer did not download critical and security updates on 19 june 2007 ( there are about 70 missing) from this date. Is there any way of downloading the updates from this far back. My computer says there is no critical or security updates available. Is it possible they have been downloaded at a later date. I don't relish the thought of looking at all the knowledge base articles to fix all these downloads.

Thanks in advance for help

  1. Which operating system are you running?  You should be able to still get critical updates for Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista.

Microsoft policy is at link below.

  2. Don't panic, if you missed it then, it will most certainly have been picked up since.

It is your computer that looks for updates on a regular basis, and if it finds any thing it hasn't already got, it will download it.  Also, remember that many updates are themselves updated (superseded) later on anyway.

  3. If the operating system you have is Vista, they're included in SP1 (meaning service pack 1).  This service pack includes all updates from when Vista was first released to about the end of March 2008.

Don't worry- you probably have the updates.  Also, sometimes older updates are updated themselves, or, depending on when you bought your operating system, already included on your system.

  4. Wouldn't worry about, most of them are just security updates for windows defender and windows malware remover. If your not familiar with windows malware remover, enter 'mrt' into the run commands.

  5. if you use windows automatic update they will install.......if there not already....which they probably are if its saying there is none now.
