Windows vista, desktop setting, help please?

Question

so i have a windows vista laptop, when i got it the settings made the desktop have a side bit at the edge of the desktop background: callender and a clock and stuff.

but i had a little fix about with the settings and its gone :(

does anyone know how i would get it back?

Click the "start" button.

Type in "sidebar"

Press enter.

at the bottom right of the screen is the clock and next to that loads of icons, its under windows toolbar. it should be there?
