I'm trying to play a song and its asking me what program to open it with ("recommended: quicktime and windows media player") but i want to play my music with itunes and it won't let me add it to the recommended programs list or open the file with it! whenever I press itunes it does absolutely nothing but sit there. how can I fix this? I'm new to windows vista and so far I do not like it at all.

  1. I don't quite get your question but try: right-clicking the song from inside its folder, then, 'Open with', then 'Browse' then looking for Itunes from there.

Or, click the start menu, type 'default programs' without the speech marks, then click the result that appears. Then click 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program', and scroll down and click to where it says .mp3 or whatever your music file type is. Then click 'Change program' to change it to iTunes.
