  1. The blue screen of death is a error screen which shuts down your computer and reboots it to save the computer hardware/software from further damage.

It is true at ONE TIME GeForce graphics cards caused a lot of hardware failures when vista was first released, however the drivers are compatible now and designed to work with vista.  I have had vista since it was released to the general public and did get a few blue screens because of incompatibility issues with my GeForce graphics card.  However I have never got it since nVidia updated their drivers (which they do regularly) three months after I swithced to Vista.  I do still check back regularly to make sure I have the latest drivers.

  2. Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

  3. The blue screen is used when the computer is can not, or is in danger of being unable to recover from a system error.

It doesn't relate to the graphics card, it is an operating system thing. I don't know about in vista though.
