you can but i strongly recommend you don't. I have nothing against Vista but the whole upgrade thing is a microsoft marketing thing that will just cause you alot of headache. XP is a great OS there really is no reason to upgrade. I suggest if you want Vista to buy a new PC that is ment to run it.

u can dual boot, vista and xp if  u want

ps i triple boot xp,vista,and linux on the smae comp

Sadly no, that only works for example you have Vista Home Basic then you can upgrade to Vista Home Premium or higher. You will have to buy Windows Vista Premium not the upgrade.
