Question:

Windows warning message?

Ok I know this is already on here probably a hundred times, but I have a constant message on my desktop telling me to run an anti-spyware program to get rid of a couple things. Well it is more serious than I've read. It redirects any links I click on to random sites trying to sell stuff, which means I can't download anti-spyware at all (it's my wife's comp I don't know why she didn't have it). Also as I was searching a minute ago I got a warning telling me my computer was about to shutdown in 60 seconds and it counted down with no way of stopping it. I remember that last symptom from a few years ago one of the biggest trojan type things in 2005. Last but not least, when I have gotten access to anti-virus/spyware and download them it corrupts the files and I can't install.

  1. I have Ad-Aware by Lavasoft. Check it out. It really does get out Malware. http://www.lavasoft.com.

  2. If the computer in question is too infected to install any malware removing programs, you can try to download the antivirus installer package from a different pc ( friend or net-cafe ) onto a flash drive , or a cd , then install it on the infected pc FROM THE  FLASH STICK OR CD ! that is ( usually ) possible

EDIT : i would recommend downloading AVAST! antivirus , doing it as i said before, on a clean pc , and after you manage to install it , do a " Boot-time " scan , which will scan your pc in " safe mode " with only the critical windows processes running ( so the malware cannot start/hide/block the antivirus... )

  3. Here are some scanners that help a lot, I always turn to these when I have a problem, and it always works.

  4. Probably some malware/spyware.

Go to http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and download the Anti-Malware. It is free. Install it and do an update of software to download latest definitions. Then scan your computer

That should definitely fix the issues you are seeing

    Good luck, my friend!
