Hi, i have just installed windows xp pro on my dell inspiron 9300 laptop, reformatting the hard drive in the process. I've managed to get everything working fine apart from the networking side of things. both the LAN and the wLAN are no longer functioning. if anyone knows how to get these working again i'd be greatly appreciative of any help you could give me.

thanks in advance,

gus

  1. hi gus

go directly to http://support.euro.dell.com/support/dow... all network drivers for your dell inspiron 9300

as you can see there are plenty of drivers however to evaluate your laptop and discover the correct driver needed download the pc audit software "belarc advisor" from http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

after installing belarc advisor you run the program and it audits your laptop and lists all the devices in it,and unlike other diagnostic programs you dont need the drivers installed to list the devices

i recently purchased a re-conditioned acer aspire 3680 laptop and decided to dual boot it(windows xp and vista) and found it hard to locate specific network drivers since like dell there are several to choose from, however belarc advisor saved the day and steered me to the correct driver

            any problems let me know

                     good luck gus !

  2. go to dell.com and download the drivers,  that is my only problem with dell, your drivers always need downloaded.

  3. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager

If your network card has a yellow triangle and an exclamation mark, that means you don't have your network drivers. If you got a CD with your computer, they might be on there. Otherwise, you'll have to go to the hardware manufacturer's site and download the drivers.

  4. Hello, you probably need to install the drivers. you should go to your device manager and see the network adapter status.Yellow exclamation mark indicate a problem while red X sign means the device is disable
