Question:

Windows xp problems?

Everytime I try to get into windows the pc keeps taking me back to the screen that asks me if I want to start windows normally when I select yes it acts asif it is going to windows but goes back to the same screen asking me the same question. Can anyone help?

  1. It sounds as though your bootsector has failed. You can repair this so long as you have the original XP cdrom.

    If you search google it will give you some good instructions on how to do this.


  2. select a different option and find out why it's not loading normally.. when this happens, it tells you that there is a problem, somewhere in the system.. you may have to do a restore to the last time the computer was acting right, ie, a day or so before this started

  3. There is a possibility that you are not seeing when it flashes the BSOD (blue screen with white writing).

    Try going into safe-mode with networking.  If the same thing happens choose last know good configuration (if you did not log into Windows and have it reboot earlier).

    If neither of these work, try the option not to "reboot" upon error and see if it shows an error.

    You may have to re-install your OS (if you have the cd/dvd) for it.
