  1. Try reinstalling your OS and hopefully this will correct the faults without deleting any of your bits and pieces.

  2. Un-install using  windows add and remove program for

    xp3 then reboot.

This should bring your computer back to normal.

Do virus and spy ware scan.

After you have done this, if computer is normal you have resolved the problem.

    If not do the following.

Go to restore and restore to before the date all of this started happening. This should bring your computer to when it was last good.

After you do this you can find out what you down loaded to cause the problem.

Be care full on what you down load and have a good anti virus program and spy ware program.

Do not run more than 1 of these programs at a time as they can cause conflicts..

  3. the first thing you have to do is turn off the firewall.  go on line to Microsoft download page and down load the latest version of the download mgr. then let microsoft auto scan your computer to see which updates need to be down loaded.  then after all this is done then update your spybot.  the SP3 has a lot of changes that make a lot of the normal programs not compatible any more.  So the first problem is your download mgr needs to be updated, and then update windows and then your spy ware and other every day programs.  I had the same problem and I had to uninstall the download mgr then install the latest version from microsoft.  Good luck. some times it gets tricky to fix, only because it has to be done in this order, if not it wont do anything different.

  4. Back-up all your important files & re-install windows from the cd.

  5. try method two under the resolutions on this link...

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=29718...

as long as you have an installation disk, you can do this by choosing to boot from disk

  6. This is a known issue with some pc's. if you could tell us whether your cpu is AMD or Intel and what make/model of pc you have I may be able to provide a link with reliable information to help.
