I'm looking for a good tasting red wine that's more on the sweet side. Any recommendations?

  1. Does it have to be red?  they now have white merlot which is sweet tasting. Also, the new reisling it tasty. If you need it for a special day, maybe go to a wine store that samples them and you could taste a few sips before buying.  


  2. a zinfandel, a pinot noir will be on the sweeter side.

    Merlot will fall somewhere in the middle.


  3. Most of your sweet wines will be white. However, for light, fruity red wine go with Cab Franc, Gamay, Pinot Noir, or Trousseau from Anjou, Beaujolais, Bourgogne, or Oregon. The French wines will be more to the sweeter side than most American wines, with the exception of Oregon or really cheap table wine.
