Wineandsoda in for a victory in a 515 metres flat at Hove
The Grade A3 515 metres flat will be staged at Hove on Friday, 2nd March. The six hounds participating will battle for the wire in order to get entitled to the £124 prize money.
Wineandsoda, Hondo Dingle’s four-year-old son out of b***h Riverside Polly, has made ten starts during the 2012 season and has won four times.
He won a Grade A5 515 metres Flat at Hove by clocking the track distance in 30.41 seconds, leading by 1 ½ lengths. He was entered as a 2/1 favourite of the race and set Calano as the runner up and was soon followed by Ardbeg Brandon, finishing third.
Wineandsoda’s second victory came his way on 27th January in a Grade A5 515 metres flat at Hove. He raced through the distance in 30.34 seconds and led by 3 ¼ lengths.
The 3/1 favourite of the race, Pacey Merlin finished the race fifth on a field of six racing by covering the distance in 30.69 seconds.
On 10th February, Wineandsoda won a third time during the season. He won a Grade A4 515 metres flat race at Hove by reaching on the other side of the wire in 30.28 seconds.
Romeo Exile was the runner up of the race while Cill Dubh Colin finished third after the winner. The 2/1 favourite of the race, Crackaway Kiddo ended the race fifth with six hounds racing.
The last start that Wineandsoda made was on 24th February in a Grade A4 515 metres Flat at Hove. He was across the field in 30.84 seconds while in lead of half a length. He was followed by Swift Fountain while finishing third in line behind the winner was Without Praise.
The 7/4 favourite of the race, Benami, left the track in the end.
Today he is to make the eleventh start of the season and in case he wins against all odds then he will record his fifth victory of the season.
The others competing tonight include Farmers Lass, Beenleigh Dunnit, Get On Grace, Kilara Bryan and Fabulous Student. The lineup is diversified and competent, getting to the fire first will be truly challenging.
