Winetavern Chili to leave mark in the Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 3 at Peterborough
Peterborough will host the Grade A2 Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 3 over 420 metres on Wednesday, 16th May. The £83 event has attracted Cabbies Lady, Swift Thunder, Moss Row Mark, Knockrour Peach, Winetavern Chili and Mt Leinster Maid.
The most accomplished entry on the line-up is Winetavern Chili, Head Bound’s three-year-old black and white daughter out of b***h, Tantallons Girl. She ended fourth in her seasonal debut which was in a Grade A3 420 metres, after racing for 26.22 seconds.
The race was won by Unknown Opinion who timed the track distance in 25.90 seconds and led the field by 1 ¾ lengths.
The next two seasonal starts saw her winning.
She won the Grade A4 Twelve Inch Hawaiian Stakes on 13th January at Peterborough over 420 metres. The 6/4 favourite of the race, Winetavern Chili, completed the trip in 25.95 seconds. He led the runner up, Place Dot Paddy, by four and a half lengths.
Settling third was Cloncunny Jet who completed the trip in 26.31 seconds.
It took Winetavern Chili 25.79 seconds to cover 420 metres on 28th January in a Grade A3 at Peterborough. The winner led the runner up, Little Thanks, by four and a half lengths.
Concluding the race third was the 5/4 favourite of the race, Caramac.
The third success of the season came her way on 10th February in a Grade A2 420 metres flat after Winetavern Chili took 26.19 seconds to settle the race.
She led the 2/1 favourite runner up, Shes Ok, by 3 ¼ lengths.
After missing the next five races, the three-year-old won a Grade A3 420 metres flat at Peterborough by timing the distance in 25.92 seconds. The 6/4 favourite of the race led the field by 4 ¼ lengths.
After this race, the S. Saberton trained did not let the rankings of the next five races go below the third position.
She won a Grade A3 420 metres flat at Peterborough on 14th April by reaching the other end of the wire in 25.98 seconds. She led the field by ¾ of a length while the 5/4 favourite of the race, Unique Shaw, ended third.
Her last two seasonal outings have resulted in second scores and it is time that she breaks free and captures the race tonight.
