  1. defence is going to be the main problem, you're not used to having an outside man.  the opponent now has someone he can dummy (or pass) to on both sides, so you're gonna have to work on timing your tackles and stopping the offload.

for tackling, when you're running towards the ball runner, on your last stride forward spread both feet pretty wide and land on both of them at the same time, crouch your knees a bit with the downward momentum, then explode forward.  this gives you good momentum against the runner, especially good for defending your line.

  2. Passing is easy, hold a rugby ball all the time.  Throw it from hand to hand and up in the air, catching it with a different hand each time, bounce it and get used to catching it when you don;t know where its going to go.  Make sure you can pass both directions.  Go down the park with a ball and a couple mates and some beers and just throw it around a couple times a week.

Tackling is harder because there;s no point half doing it.  Ask your coach if you can do more contact training at practice.  Short of tackling random strangers in Wal Mart, there;s not much you can do.
