Wings??????????

The wings hav a ton of cap space, but also good players, but the question is

say the wings signed hossa, what will happen to guys like hudler, val, and mikeal??

what big name superstar do u think the wings will get during Free agents

They won't sign Hossa. He'll garner at LEAST $7 million, and that means they'll lose a lot of their support players. It is those support players that make the Wings so great. They don't have THAT much cap space! They're not even sure if they can sign Brad Stuart, and he would be a better pick than any of the free agents out there. Honestly, I don't see them delving very deeply into the free agent market right now. There is nothing out there that is worth the cost, and why break up a good thing?

They'll probably want to save that Cap room for when they have to sign Zetterberg.  Also if Franzen keeps scoring ala Ovechkin, then he will garner a significant raise in a few years too.  They also have to sign Filppula soon too.  I want to see them pick up Sundin for a couple years, not Hossa.  He obviously is out there just for the money and I don't think he would gel with the Wings.

The Wings have about $41 million signed for next year....and with the cap expecting to be somewhere around $55-57 million...that leaves them with some room to shop around if they like.  If they were to sign a player like Sundin or Hossa....they would still have enough room to sign val and hank to long term deals.  Be that as it may, other teams will offer those players a lot more money, but if Sundin wants a cup, he has the best shot of getting one with Detroit.

I think they'll stand pat and avoid big splashes so they'll be able to sign their own free agents in the next few years.
