Wining not the most important thing: Carlo Ancelotti
The Barclays Premier League champions’ manager Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that wining is not the most important thing in football.
Ancelotti is trying to play down http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s worst run in the domestic league for more than 10 years by claiming that results should be less important to the general progress of a club.
The under-pressure manager of the Blues said, "I don't think it is the most important thing, to win. I know that a lot of managers are judged just on the results. Maybe in the future I will be an owner of a club. I will judge my coach not just on the results."
Chelsea finally ended their winless streak of six matches by defeating Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge by one goal on Wednesday. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 was the only goal scorer of the match, who tapped in the ball from the near post after being played by Didier
Drogba from the right side.
However, Wanderers’ claimed that Drogba was offside when he was played through by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 and the replays suggested that the Ivorian striker of Chelsea was indeed a few steps ahead of the Bolton defence.
Chelsea also welcomed the return of their most deadly midfielder, Frank Lampard, who had not featured since late August.
After the match, Chelsea skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895, who has recently returned from an injury, claimed that out-of-form Chelsea proved that they would soon be back firing on all cylinders.
John Terry said, "I thought we deserved to win the game, especially in the second half, we dominated. That's more like the Chelsea we know. The hunger, the spirit, the determination; we pressed a lot better. The fans appreciate you can lose and draw, but
when they don't see the passion, that's what hurts. We're hopefully back now."
Chelsea were recently defeated by Arsenal for the first time in 2 years in a Premier League match by three goals to one. However, the English champions bounced back in an attacking manner and defeated Bolton Wanderers two days later.
The Blues are currently placed fourth in the League with 34 points to their credit out of 19 league games. They will host Aston Villa for their 20th league fixture at Stamford Bridge on 2 January 2011.
