Winky wright vs kelly pavlik?

Question

after watching the second fight b/w taylor and pavlik, i wondered what people thought about this matchup. i personally would love to see it. winky has some of the best (if not the best) defense in boxing and has a good chin. Pavlik however is a very good fighter as well and is a very hard puncher. i personlly think winky would win a decision. his defense would frusturate pavlik and winky would nail him with the jab all day. who do you think wins and how?

I agree I am a huge Winky Wright fan and I agree that he would beat Kelly by Unanimous Decision. If they fight it will show you that Pavlik is still a slugger that won't get passed a true boxer in Wright and his defensive style is great i love when Winky blocks almost every punch and smirks like he can block everything, but sadly nobody likes Winky's style they want an action packed fight were this could be an intriguing fight i'd choose Winky to win by 117-111. Also Winky has stated that he wants only big money fights but nobody is willing to fight him because of his style i think Winky should demand this fight vs Pavlik and then he can get the big money fights he is seeking for.

I'm going to go against the grain here. I've seen a lot of Pavlik Fights and he is a very different fighter than felix trinidad. One thing he does is punch you everywhere if winky wright stands in front of him with his Guard up he will get stopped. Pavlik will hit whatever is is available. He is not a plodding one dimentional brute. He has some skill and more importantly in a fight with a guy like Winky I believe he would have the  determination to keep punching even if your not landing flush

  I think you will see a Marciano v. La Starza type of fight if Winky does not move his feet and head.

Absouley agree Ronald Winky Wright. This fight kind of reminds me of the Trinidad vs Wright fight. Everyone tought Tito would win with his great punchin power and they were wrong. Pavlik is a  great fighter but like you said Winky's defense would really have Pavlik off balance and he'll get desperate when he see's he can land anything on this guy. Wright would walk Pavlik into his jab for all 12 rounds of the fight and easy win a unanimous decision. Winky can sleep on Pavlik he can easily suprise you Winky with his great 1-2 combo but Winky has to much defense and a great chin to let Pavlik hurt him. I still say if Taylor wouldv'e use more defense in the first fight against Pavlik he couldv'e knock him out. I'm not saying Wrigth would KO Pavlik but he'll give him a hard time.

I would love to see it too.  Winky's style is much different than Taylor's.  I would love to see what kind of adjustments Pavlik could make to get past Winky's guard.

Winky is great, and would be a tough opponent for anyone 154 to 175.  You'd hope that Pavlik would learn from Taylor's fight with Winky, and keep it in the middle of the ring - which Pavlik does anyway.  

At this stage in their careers I would go with the younger, stronger Pavlik to out work Wright, keep him moving, and win a close, maybe (as always with Winky Wright) controversial decision.

This would be a very interesting fight. Pavlik is on the rise and a very good offensive fighter. Winky Wright is one of the best defensive fighters of his generation and would confuse Pavlik alot. I also believe Winky would be too slick to be hurt and would pull out a decision. However Bob Arum wont have him fight Wright, not yet anyway. He is gonna have Pavlik fight some softies (Trinidad or Duddy, and Abraham)
