Winner of A2 race enjoys a Lively Night at Belle Vue
The Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium always entertains racing fans with the wide variety of 470m races on their schedules. Spectators enjoyed a lively afternoon at the races on Wednesday 24
November as the track presented a pair of exciting A2 races.
In the first A2 race, Lively Night’s (4-1) early pace helped him to take the lead and claim the top spot. He always led the pack, crossing the finish line in top form with a time of 28.37
seconds. Second place belonged to Seathwaite Ville, the favourite on 4-5 odds. She would go on to finish 2 lengths behind the winner in 28.53.
Judicial Audit (6-1) moved slowly away from the pack, losing 3½ lengths as a result. His finishing time of 28.81 placed him third. Badly bumping third landed Hillview Stan (4-1) in fourth
place. He was just a ½ length out of the number three position.
A stumbling start cost Freckleton (9-2) 1¾ lengths in the race. He finished in 28.99 to lock up fifth place. Rough Rising (5-1) had a rough time in the race. He was struck badly by Hillview
Stan at the third bend, and ended up finishing the race in 31.39 as a result.
The second A2 race saw Marthas Minnie (7-2) emerge as the champion. She led at the second bend after a bounding start from trap two, and would hold onto that lead all the way to the finish
line, posting a time of 28.21. Rhoden Rose (5-1) lost 2¾ lengths after crowding first, but she ran on to finish in 28.43.
Third place was claimed by Lulus Pet (5-1). She had a clear run, finishing well with a time of 28.51, which was a single length out of second place. Costompye (4-1) held an early pace
and went wide later on, finishing a head’s length out of the top three in 28.52 to earn the number four spot.
Brave Dawn (7-2) moved slowly away from the pack, losing 1¾ lengths in the process. She completed the race with a time of 28.66. Laying claim on the sixth and final position was Romeo
Brave, the 3-1 favourite. Starting from trap six, he moved slowly away, and could not recover fast enough. He went on to finish in 28.76, which placed him 1¼ lengths behind the fifth-place finisher.
Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium will hold its next race meeting on Thursday 25 November. The first race of the evening will get under way at 19:20.
