Winner of Maybank Malaysian Open Louis Oosthuizen: What’s in his magical bag?
South African Louis Oosthuizen has soared as one of the most potent threats on the sports arena, after pulling in successful bids in consecutive events since the start of the season.
The 29-year-old shot to stardom in 2010, when he carded his first major victory at the Open Championship and since then, he has been considered as a highly respected golfer all over the world.
He came close to winning his first green jacket at the Masters but was overtaken by the rampaging Bubba Watson in a nail-biting playoff drama.
Regardless of Oosthuizen’s loss, his magical double-eagle on the third hole in the final round, has pushed many to wonder what Oosthuizen has got in his bag that throws him in contention in almost every event he plays in.
Here’s a breakdown of what Oosthuizen carries in his bag:
Ball Titleist, Pro V1 X (07)
Shoe FootJoy

Despite a painful loss at Augusta National and a gruesome 30 hour flight to Malaysia, Oosthuizen surged to stardom yet again at Maybank Malaysian Open, when he landed his first title of the year at the scenic Kuala Lumpur Golf Club.
He said, “It was a good week for me. Obviously it was a disappointment for me last week in what happened but I knew I could do it this week. I knew it was going to be a tough week with the jetlag but I also felt the game was there. I’m over the moon with the result”.
Oosthuizen has played amazingly since the start of the season, pulling in a strong joint third in Houston and a runner-up finish in the first major of the season.
Oosthuizen insists that he has learned a great deal from his colossal loss at Augusta National and says that the defeat has only compounded his urge to get the green jacket.
He added, “I think the only way I will get over the Masters will be by putting on a Green Jacket”.
Winner of ten professional titles in his grizzled career, the Mossel Bay native is all set to reinvent his classic form for the Links golf and bag yet another Open Championship title this year.
