And as for winners of what...give it all to her.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 19, 2003 -- The USTA announced that 2003 US Open prize money will exceed $17 million, continuing its leadership position in offering the largest purse of any annual event in sports. For the first time in Grand Slam history, both the Men’s and Women’s Singles Champions will receive a record $1,000,000. The USTA has also increased prize money for doubles, with the Men’s and Women’s Doubles Champions each receiving a record $400,000. The 2003 US Open will mark the 30th anniversary of the US Open becoming the first Grand Slam tournament to offer equal prize money to both men and women.

The record-setting 2003 purse includes over $10 million in main draw singles prize money, an 8% increase vs. last year. Total prize money is up $1 million, a 6.2% increase. The total purse of $17,074,000 remains the highest of any tennis event, and $3 million more than the closest non-tennis event.

So Stacy a cool Million bucks went to Andy Roddick(USA) for beating Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP)  6-3, 7-6, 6-3 and to Justine Henin (BEL) for beating Kim Clijsters (BEL) 7-5, 6-1.

And $400,000 for the team to Men's doubles winners Jonas Björkman (SWE)/Todd Woodbridge (AUS) for defeating Bob Bryan/Mike Bryan (USA), 5-7, 6-0, 7-5

and $400,000 for the team to Women's doubles winners  Virginia Ruano Pascual (ESP)/Paola Suarez (ARG) for defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)/Martina Navratilova (USA), 6-2, 6-2

The winners in Mixed made much less. Infact so much less that they don't even mention it. So Katarina Srebotnik (SLO)/Bob Bryan (USA) for defeating Lina Krasnoroutskaya (RUS)/Daniel Nestor (CAN), 5-7, 7-5, 7-6(5) got paid bupkis.

Well I shouldn't say that since $150,000 or $75,000 per winning player isn't bad I guess. Better than the paultry $37,500 Daniel Nestor brought home as runner up after dividing the $75,000 with Lina.

Now the Juniors truly got Bupkis.

Boys' Singles winner Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) def. Marcos Baghdatis (CYP), 7-6, 6-3 and recieves nothing.

Girls' Singles winner Kirsten Flipkens (BEL) def. Michaëlla Krajicek (NED), 6-3, 7-5 and takes home just the memories.

There were no boys or girls doubles played due to the inclement weather that year.
