i know it is a man speaking it, but if you are in theater, it shouldn't matter.

this really is a good one. And it's not overdone like "to be or not to be'.

it makes it look like you put more thought into finding the monologue.

Winning monologues? Well... a gifted performer can transform even the worst text into an amazing speech.

Try anything really.... But emphasize on the message you are trying to transmit to the public. Even a barren telephone bill can be read and interpreted in a 1000 different ways.

The text is not at all important, it is just a plea for your talent. :p
