Question:

Winning an ebay item?

I recently bid on this item on ebay but I was just outbidded! Is it possible to still win the item by topping the other person during the last hour (or...last minute if you want to take the risk)? Are there rules against this?

  1. no rules against it...its the way the game is played in ebay

  2. Of course, yes! - as long as the bidding is still open.  That is what ebay is all about!

  3. It's considered scummy, I think, but you can wait till the very last seconds (10-15) to place the winning bid, just make sure you bid high enough because you'll only have time for one shot!

    Good luck!

  4. Yes, you can bid again and hope that you beat their bid. Or yes, you can bid up to the last second in hope that you will win! There are no rules against it. If you bid and win, you win!

  5. You need to set a proxy bid that has a range on it. So that if someone tries to bid, it automatically outbids them.

  6. Yep. Wait til the last minute and outbid the high bidder. This is perfectly safe! (and verry smart) Best!!!

  7. no rules on last minute bidding except for not paying.  This is the really fun part of winning and bidding on an auction.  Good luck and have fun.

  8. No, if you really want it you need to rebid, that is the whole point in auction style listings... Be careful waiting until the very last minute as you are probably not the only one doing that.. I am an Ebay Powerseller/store owner... and have bought a bunch of things..As a seller of course I want to see bidding wars go on for days... but as a buyer I want to watch an item and jump in at the last possible moment to get the best bargain.. if this is something you REALLY want and the pricing seems fair try this... Wait until it is down to 30 sec. place a very high bid that will throw off the other bidders (Im talking jeans for example overbid by $30..), they won't have time to keep guessing your limit and you win!! (Don't ever bid more than you can afford to pay tho..) Good luck and be careful- bidding can be addictive- it is fun!!!

  9. no as long as there is still time i think

  10. nope thats the fun of ebay
