Winning has a Pretty Rhythm to it at Hove
Winning a greyhound race can sometimes be likened to dancing in perfect rhythm. When people dance in perfect rhythm, the result is a sight to behold. When a greyhound places first in a
big 515m race, it seems as if they ran in perfect rhythm.
Such was the case as Pretty Rhythm (3-1) bounded out of trap six and ran on to a first-place finish in the A6 race that began an exciting afternoon at the Coral Brighton and Hove Greyhound
Stadium. She completed the race in 30.76. Finishing only ¾ lengths behind her was Corrib Magic (5-1), who placed second after challenging the run in. His finishing time was 30.82.
Rounding out the top three was third-place finisher Katie Two (7-2). She ran on to finish in 30.83, which just a head’s length out of second place. The number four position was claimed
by 9-2 long shot Navanfort Dawn, who led at the halfway mark en route to a 30.86 finish. A neck’s length separated her from a finish in the top three. In addition, she was a substitute in trap three for Duhallow Classic.
Shatani Sue (4-1) had every chance to win this race, but failed to do so as she came in fifth place. She finished the race in 31.12, which was 3¼ lengths behind Navanfort Dawn. Sixth place
went to 5-2 favourite Glencull Boy, who finished a shoulder behind fifth place. However, he matched the fifth-place time of 31.12 in the process.
Next on the card was another A6 race that saw So Juicey (4-1) get the juicy taste of victory. He led near the finish line, and hung on to take first place with a time of 30.80. Lawlors
Choice (3-1) was the second-place finisher, and was ¾ lengths behind the winner in 30.86. In third place was Knockatoon Bell, the 5-2 favourite in the race. She finished a shoulder behind Lawlors Choice, and equalled his time of 30.86.
Quickasasnail (4-1) wasn’t quick enough to crack the top three, as he moved slowly away and finished the race in 30.96. Unfortunately, a loss of 1¼ lengths cost him a top-three finish.
Fifth place went to Apple Precious (7-1), who had a disputed lead to third, but wound up losing some ground. He finished the race in 31.06, 1¼ lengths behind Quickasasnail. Bringing up the rear was Kentel Star (7-2), who crowded first to finish 3¼ behind fifth
in 31.32.
The dogs will get an early start at Coral Brighton and Hove Greyhound Stadium on Friday, October 15, as the track will hold an early race meeting. The first race of the morning will be
held at 11:11.
