Winning is only option for Stephen Hendry – Snooker News
Former seven-time World Snooker Champion from Scotland, Stephen Hendry dominated the world of snooker in his prime and he believes that he has developed a habit of winning the game as losing is not an option for him anymore.
He is currently present at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield where he is playing against China’s Yu Delu in the final round of the 2012 World Snooker Championship qualifiers.
The Ice Man is just four frames away from the Crucible entry as the veteran is leading by three frames over the Chinese, Yu Delu at 6-3. The legend has played impressively against the Chinese so far and is waiting for the final sessions to start so that
he can ensure his victory in the qualifiers and surge into the opening stage of the event.
The legendary potter was very disappointed after crashing out of the 2011 World Snooker Championship and even gave hints to quit the game because he could not swallow his defeat. However, he came back into the game with new determination and is now hoping
for a better turn out in this Championship because he has no other option but to win.
Speaking to the media, Hendry said, “I've got the attitude that I just go there to win. I don't go there hoping to play well, or hoping to play fantastic snooker, I just go there to get the match won and that's the main thing. I don't think I'll enjoy it.”
The Golden Brain added, “To have to qualify for the Crucible, where I've won seven world titles and had a great career, is not going to be enjoyable. It doesn't matter how I win, I've just got to win it. It's all about having the right attitude."
Hendry will resume his game against Yu Delu at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield on April 15 from the previous score line of 6-3. Hendry needs four frames to book his place in the televised stages of snooker’s most prestigious event at the Crucible
Theatre in Sheffield, the city of snooker. It will be exciting to see Hendry put in a good performance and carry some winning momentum forward.
