Winston Justice’ injury celebration: Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh escapes league action – NFL News
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh dubbed as ‘dirty’ boy is most likely to get away with unethical celebrations and slur over Indianapolis Colts right tackle Winston Justice while the latter was on the field in pain suffering a concussion during
a tackle.
Some sections of media have cited anonymous league sources claiming that the National Football League (NFL) office does not find the evidence of the celebrative tactics closest to violations of rules and therefore no action will be taken against Suh.
The complaints of unethical behaviour or slur was first made by Indianapolis Colts’ Mike McGlynn who told a local newspaper that while he saw his teammate suffering because of the injury, he found Suh and bunch laughing and dancing round him, which, he drew
the attention of the league, was unethical and the player should be punished.
He was particularly concerned about the fact that it has been only less than a week that Suh was slapped with $30K fine by the league office and yet he find himself performing unethical acts. The Colts player is out for an unknown period because of the concussion.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz has meanwhile defended Suh and his party claiming the coaches’ film does not have evidence of such an act, and that the players celebrated an interception, and not the injury of Colts player.
The coach said:
"What shows on the coaches' film is we make an interception with six minutes to go and we're up two scores and looks like it's a really great chance to be able to win that game. Guys were looking to make blocks; guys made blocks.”
He added:
“It's off after that. There were no penalties on that play. Our guys were rightfully excited. We had a very good pass rush on that. The quarterback, like we had talked about all week, had to elevate his throw. We're excited about it. I don't think anybody's
revelling in anybody being injured or anything like that."
This is second time in two weeks that Suh has been criticised for his actions on the field. He earlier hardly managed to escape a suspension but was fined over hit on a Houston Texans’ player, and again has made the headlines because of his behaviour in
the game versus Colts.
