Hi, my friend Shaz has a 2 year old winter white she's a female and she's called Zizzi. Recently my friends brother who is 6 dropped the hamster (not from a great height) on the carpet. So my friend took her to the vet who said shes fine. A few days later she developed a small lump on her right hand side. The lump 2 days was massive and has moved to the hammys chest. Zizzi has started to pluck her fur away from her stomach & chest. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, and is walking about normally. But my friend is wondering what the lump is any ideas are welcome thanks.

Ps: Zizzis booked in to the vets 1 week from today.

  1. tell your friend to take her hamster back to the vet as soon as possible, it could be a cancerous tumour, or if not, it could be a cyst filled with pus that could gte infected and kill zizzi!

  2. Hmm...I don't think a tumor would grow that fast.  It could be a cyst or infection of some kind.  I would suggest, if it has gotten that big this fast, that your friend get her to the vet as soon as possible.

  3. The lump is probably uncomfortable. That's probably why she's plucked all her fur away.

  4. Ok well you need to take zizzi to the vet, lumps can normally make the hamster feel like it needs to get rid of all there fur
