Question:

Winter White Dwarf Hamsters - Father & Son?

Today I purchased 2 Winter White Dwarfs from PetSmart. The store only sells males, so I'm pretty sure they are males. However, out of the two I got, one is larger than the other. I think this might be the father and the other is their kid?

Anyways, they are fine now. But will they start to fight (to the death, not just play) eventually, like when the little one reaches maturity? Or should they be fine since they are family. I know it depends on the personalities to determine how they will work together, but yeah.

I do have a spare cage just in case they do. The guy at the store said that they CANNOT be caged together and he said only the Chinese Dwarfs can be together. I've read plenty of articles, etc. that all Dwarfs are social and should be in pairs/groups.

Sorry for the long ramble, I like to talk about all the details, haha.

  1. see what there like first i read that dwarfs live in groups but just in case

they do fight have an object ready to break them up.

  2. The guy at the pet store probably knows what he is talking about. They might not be father and son, though. They could be brothers, one bigger than the other and stronger. Or they might not even be related. But you probably should be on the look out for any violence. Especially if they are both males. Any signs of fighting and you should separate them.

  3. you should put the little one not with the big one but when you take one out take the other out and see if they play together if they do just watch carefully and you got a 14 day money back garenty
