I am getting married at the very beginning of January. I decided to make my theme as a winter wonderland theme. Does anyone have any ideas on decorations or food or anything to use to support my theme??

  1. For some reason, whenever I see crystals hanging from branches, I think winter wonderland wedding. Lots of candles to add warmth, kind of to mimic a fireplace (and who doesn't like a fireplace on a cold January night?). I would stick with basic food, like chicken and beef, because those are comfort foods and people love comfort food in the winter. Steak dinners warm people up, so maybe you could even take that a step further and work with a caterer to create a "comfort food" theme with the menu. Like mac & cheese appetizers, chicken noodle soup, etc. It sounds cheesy, but you could get creative and make it classy.

Also, you should totally get a faux fur wrap. If I were having a winter wedding, I so would. It's so classy and elegant, and cute at the same time.

  2. I went to a wedding in January.  Worst decision I ever made,  The storms of the north and east and the Artic cold really made the occasion markedly miserable.

  3. Hey!

Here are some websites that might help

  4. The New Years Eve wedding I went to this year had a small regular cake that the bride and groom cut (with snowflakes on it, of course) and then ice cream cake for the guests to eat.  I thought this was a cute idea.

  5. Google images does wonders.  I got my entire red themed wedding (also in the winter) from google images.  Now, when I think "winter wonderland" this is what I envision but you may think differently (all from google images):

  7. For a winter wedding I always envision shades of Dark blue, icey blue and lavender and steel gray. Also I love the look of "iced" branches. Here is a link. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/icedbranch...  Don't for get to have lots of candles to add warmth.  Snowflakes are would be good decorations as well.

Definately stick with comfort foods or foods you would eat during the winter. A bowl of beef stew, warm bread, roast beef, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese to name a few ideas.

  8. I think Schi has the perfect idea.  Makes me want to get married all over again.
