It's winter here in Australia and i always struggle as to what to do party wise for my son. We live in a small house and it's cold outside. I was thinking of a few sweet treats like cupcakes, fairy bread that sort of thing but what can i do food wise. I have a chicken salad in mind but what else any ideas?

  1. I don't know if this is a "do-able" idea in Australia, but my grandson had HIS 4th birthday at the local fire station!  They had a room for him to have pizza and cake.  The firemen gave a little safety talk to the kids, and let them climb all over the fire engines and paramedics' van.  They even hung a pinata from the fire truck ladder for them!  My daughter just got little plastic fire hats for favors (and the pinata candy)

  2. I know that one time since my brother's birthday is the day after Christmas my mom made spegetti and meatballs and put crazy toothpicks everywhere for the meatballs to make it entertaining. It was fun!

  3. well i watch the australian chef Curtis Stone...he had great idea.He put out tons of veggies(broccoli, peas, corn, carrots) and let the kids pick what they wanted thrown in the bowl and he bought frozen pastry dough in freezer section...and I dont know for sure what he used for broth. But you can get cream of chicken and mix w little milk and pour over it before you put the crust on top..then each child put their intials cut out of dough on top so they knew which one was theirs..one did a smiley face! they all loved eating it because they had chosen the veggies and made it on their own.Pot pies!!

ps he used chicken already cooked from the store one of the rottesorie ones.

    good luck!!

let them do tacos???make their own on that also..

  4. please dont make those kids eat chicken salad, these kids are at a birthday party to get hyped up on sugar!! let them be kids, buy hotdogs, hamburgers, ice cream, etc. make it fun and fattening; thats the only way to throw a kids birthday party.
