My daughter and I are travelling from England to Canada this Christmas - going to Kelowna in British Columbia. What is it like in December there? Apart from cold!! How low does the temperature generally get? Should we expect more rain than snow?

  1. Kelowna, is cold @ Christmas, more snow than rain it will probably struggle to get above 1 or 2 degrees. Lovely area though with plenty of places to visit & things to do. Go South towards Osoyoos into the wine region & go sampling the wine, if winter sports aren't for you.

  2. Kelowna is in the southern interior of British Columbia.  It's winter months are colder but drier than the coastal weather.  The average winter temperatures range from 0 degrees to -7 degrees celsius.  (about 25-32 degrees farenheight).  Cool but not really cold, although winter storms are not uncommon.  In December, snow would be more likely than rain.

You're not facing extreme cold winter weather that you could expect across many parts of Canada.   Kelowna is a beautiful area with many winter outdoor activities.  If you ski you'll be in the heart of some of the finest ski areas in the world.  You're going to enjoy your holiday.
