Former Arsenal player, Nigel Winterburn believes that a change in mentality and a new found confidence has helped the Gunners out tremendously.
Arsenal started off the season on the back foot and seemed to be on course to having one of their worst seasons to date.
However, following the team’s defeat to AC Milan by four goals to nil, things seemed to change at the Emirates.
The North London club went on to learn from their mistakes and they are now looking to be stronger then they have ever been.
The team is currently on a seven game win streak and that in itself tells us just how far the team has come in recent weeks.
Winterburn, who used to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 at one point in time, believes that the change in mentality at the club and the new found confidence that all the players have, is what has caused the turnaround at the club.
The former Gunners star is quoted to have said: “Confidence plays a big part when you are on a good run of form”
“You just never think you are going to lose, even when you go a goal behind. You always have the belief that you will come back and that the minimum you will get is a draw.”
He then went on to talk about the AC Milan game and how it helped the team really find themselves.
“After AC Milan [a 4-0 away defeat in the Champions League] the players were low and they would have had to dig deep because they had some severe criticism"

However, Winterburn feels that the team need to maintain their form and go on and end the season on a high. Should the team do just that, they are guaranteed Champions League football and they could come back the coming season, looking and feeling stronger
than ever.
“But now the team is on a terrific run and what they need to do now is keep that going until the end of the season, make sure Champions League football is secured and then get ready to challenge next season."
