Winterize Mercury Outboard Motor?

I am looking for instructions to winterize a Mercury Outboard - a diagram would be very helpful. Thank you.

  2. I do not like to fog out the carb. Here is an easy way, First remove one plug at a time and squirt a couple of squirts of 2 stroke oil in each cylinder and re-install plugs. Then turn over the motor a couple of times (will not start because of oil in the cylinders) Then quickly remove the gear oil plug at the bottom leg , oil will start to come out, look at the color of oil and replace plug. If oil looks good then do nothing. If oil looks bad like there is white stuff or water in the oil than drain it all and replace the seal and replace the oil. Try to drain all the gas out or add some stabilizer in it or don't and add some new gas to it in spring.

  3. stabelizer in fuel

    run engine on muffs or in water for 15 min

    spray storage sealent into the air intake while running(this will kill the engine).

    change the oil in engine if not a 2 stroke

    change oil in lower unit
